Our story began with an obsession for coffee, a friendly competition, and a coincidental job application.
Coffee is about bringing people together. Two friends share a cup of coffee as they catch up after a long time apart. After a great date, a young couple visits the local coffee shop to extend their time together. Coffee also brought our founders together, who would later launch Ethica Coffee Company.
Darya discovered her love for coffee after earning a manager position at a small family-owned coffee shop. Down the road, Rachel worked as a professional barista at another coffee shop. Their close proximity forced them into a competition for over two years.
It wasn’t until they both applied for the same job that they began working together. They soon discovered how well they worked with each other. Rachel’s bubbly personality charmed the customers, while Darya’s penchant for perfection allowed her to make rich blends that charmed the senses. They decided to utilize their talents and create something for themselves. This marked the beginning of Ethica Coffee.
